A Computational Tool for Three-Point Hitch Geometry Optimisation Based on Weight-Transfer Minimisation

The weight-transfer effect, consisting of the change in dynamic load distribution between front and rear tractor axles, is one most impairing phenomena for performance, comfort, safety agricultural operations. Excessive weight transfer from to axle can occur during operation or manoeuvring implements connected through three-point hitch (TPH). In this respect, an optimal design TPH ensure better ultimately improve operational safety. study, a computational tool (the Optimiser) determination geometry which minimises effect developed. Optimiser based on constrained minimisation algorithm. objective function be minimized related front-to-rear simulated reference manoeuvre performed with implement soil. Simulations are model tractor-TPH-implement aggregate. determined by complies ISO-730 Standard functional requirements other requirements. interaction soil was successfully validated against experimental data. simulation results show that adopted effective triggering exhibiting peak-to-peak value 27.1 kN manoeuvre.
